As part of 2022’s 4A’s Institute for Advanced Advertising Studies, I participated in a pitch to the City of Chicago. Their ask? Address the city’s divisions and get Chicagoans to visit different neighborhoods.
Our team took a human approach, agreeing that the best way for Chicagoans to see themselves in other neighborhoods is to see their stories reflected there. To do this, we created a conversation card deck and full activation plan to get residents playing with strangers virtually and in shared public spaces.
This resulted in an ongoing partnership with the City of Chicago, where my team and I acted as consultants to bring the cards to life as part of two of Illinois' racial healing and equity programs—Together We Heal and Healing Illinois.
